You can get to the city, Pakenham or Berwick quickly. Or you can stay closer to home and be equally happy in a safe and community-oriented setting.
The south-east is rapidly developing its own dining destinations. Heathfield residents only have to pop across the road to d’Angelo Vineyard where the cellar door menu on Friday nights and weekends offers gourmet pizzas and shared plates. A little further afield amongst many options, The Lakeside Mill in Pakenham has an excellent menu and The Berwick Inn Hotel is well known for its dining, beer garden and entertainment.
Shopping’s also a breeze. You’ll find everything you need at the Arena Shopping Centre in Officer. There’s a Woolworths supermarket, more than 15 specialty stores, a McDonald’s and the Officer Medical Centre. A few minutes’ drive can also have you in the thriving shopping centres of Pakenham or Berwick, while nearby Fountain Gate Shopping Centre has more than 40 speciality retailers to take shopping to another level entirely.
Whether you’ve got littlies, primary-age kids or teenagers, Heathfield is a great place for families.
There are several local kindergartens, plus 11 primary and secondary schools – both public and private – in the area. St Brigid’s Primary School is right next door – an easy walk from anywhere in the estate. For tertiary students, Monash University’s Berwick campus is just up the highway.
There are plenty of leisure facilities in Officer and even bigger things on the drawing board. As well as sports grounds for cricket, football, soccer and netball there are plans for an aquatic/leisure centre, tennis courts, plus basketball, hockey and volleyball facilities.
